The Roosevelt High School show choir, Executive Suite, is made up of 60 singer/dancers, 20 band members, ten tech crew and a team of volunteers on and off stage. The choir was honored to perform at the 2019 National ACDA Conference in Kansas City. The ensemble has been highlighted for their performance investments on stage as well as their sense of community all around.
The following are some quotes from notes that the group received following National ACDA: "It was a full-bodied, full-throated, total commitment. And what a performance...precision of movement, depth of sound, and the gift of joy. I was also impacted by your embodiment of community--after the performance I watched as you interacted with each other and was moved by how much love was in the room. The world could use more of that Executive Suite love. So thank you...for gifting us with sheer entertainment, for giving us YOU, and for reminding us that music and community are the two best gifts ever." "Executive Suite - Thank you for sharing your talents and wearing your hearts on your sleeves. It is clear that you and your directors pay so much attention to detail. It is also clear that each and every one of you were so engaged in your art and care about what you do as musicians! You have inspired me to dig deep and to question my students about how they perform their music. As a choir teacher at a performing arts high school, I am constantly trying to push the envelope of our program and this was exactly the inspiration I needed to help me envision what is possible. I was truly in awe the entire time you were on that stage. " Executive Suite is directed by Robyn Starks Holcomb, choreographed by Mike Weaver and music arrangements are created by Garrett Breeze. |
