All Roosevelt choir students will be provided performance attire to wear for performances.
Freshman Chorus/Mixed Chorus: These choirs wear Roosevelt Choir Robes and Stoles.
If you dress as a male in Mixed Chorus, you will need to provide your own black dress shoes, long black socks, and black trousers to wear with robes. Any shirt you choose to wear should not be seen sticking out of the top of the robe.
Those dressing as a female in these choirs will need black closed toed flat dress shoes and skin tone nylons/tights to wear with their robes. What you choose to wear under your robe does not need to adhere to any uniform, it is just important to remember that it should not be seen under the robe and you are encouraged to dress professionally.
Collared shirts should not be worn with robes by anyone. Jeans and tennis shoes are not appropriate and will not be allowed on stage. If attaining these items is problematic, communication with the directors in a timely fashion will allow them time to locate the items for the student to use for the season. This communication will not result in a successful outcome if it is not initiated until moments before the concert.
Concert Choir/Chorale/Executive Chamber/First Ladies/President's Men: These choirs wear Roosevelt Performance Dresses and Tuxedos.
If you dress as a male in these auditioned ensembles, you need to provide your own black dress shoes and long black socks.
If you dress as a female in these auditioned ensembles, you will need to provide your own black closed toed flat dress shoes and skin tone nylons/tights. You will also be asked to purchase an inexpensive jewelry package, including a necklace, bracelet and earrings.
For All Choirs:
The end of the year "Pops" concert is not a robed/performance attire concert. Students will be asked to wear their We Are Roosevelt - We Are One T Shirt provided by the school, with jeans and comfortable shoes of choice. The choir T shirt is a required uniform for that concert. Do not lose it!
